Arrive home late afternoon. BAA yet again fail to find ‘sky-bridge’ and we sit on tarmac for what seems like hours. Surreptiously fiddle with blackberry. Pained messages and emails from client and Soho House ‘’call us immediately you land – problems’’. With dread, call client.

Wake early to message from target car manufacturer – thought they’d gone cold. Very good start to the day. Makes up for one too many ‘Golden Goose’ cocktails (with real flakes of gold naturally).
Post mortem with client on first night – agree some finessing to PR strategy.
