Oh wonderful. Not sure why but this just popped into my head. Desperate to see some of the illustrations again so turned to Google. Beautiful, eerie pictures.

At the risk of looking even more of a saddo amongst my colleagues than I already do, I bought Beatles Rockband on Friday. I love it (I already own one of the other Rockband games) and think its yet another clever move on the part of the games industry to not only get boys and girls playing computer games together but possibly different generations too - although perhaps Nintendo are being more successful in the cross generational thing. Its great to see the laughter these games generate especially in an age which is not so happy. As for the selling out question - in Rockband's case I don't agree but won't say any more as this will turn into an essay!

I love Ratsmagic. It's true. I do. There's no denying it.

I had this book as a child. I have no clue as to how i acquired it, I believe it may have been from my mom's boyfriend maybe? Anyway. I went back to find it because the first of my cousins was going to have a baby and I figured I would get the kid a GOOD book, Ratsmagic. I found my copy, sans dust jacket, heavily water damaged, pages stuck together, looking a fright. I was heartbroken.

Ok, so I have been searching the interwebs for this book for a few years (My cousin's soon-to-be baby is now 6 I think,) and I finally found a copy for less than 40 dollars! (damn you amazon) The site I ordered from had one in stock, and I am very very excited to have my own copy again!!

Thank you for posting pictures and a description, I was able to effectively utilize your site to show/explain to my friends the glory that is Ratsmagic.

Thanks again.

Never knew it was Michael Gillette who was the author of the Bond's artwork. Thanks for giving the link to his website! (though I hate Flash)

Very smart, but a shame Leo Burnett didn't actually come up with the idea themselves... http://www.adrants.com/2008/03/a-wellintended-ripoffs-still-a.php
